Dollar v The Dukes - 30 June 2009 
Ready for action on the first tee both teams looked comfortable but on the hottest day of the year (so far) the slopes took their toll. Dollar were the victors winning four matches to the Dukes two halved matches.
The most 'quirky' course in the Caledonian League was one opinion from the visitors but their Captain, Sandy Mitchell, was diplomatic
commenting how well Dollar had played but it remained to be seen, he said, whether or not they could repeat the performance at the The Dukes course which so differs
from Dollar - whereas Dollar is short with small greens, The Dukes is the opposite - long with bigger and much faster greens.
On the first tee and looking confident both teams are ready for their second match of the season.
Dollar was a new venue for Kirriemuir and local knowledge got the better of them by 4½ to 1½. They forecast a different result with home advantage at Kiriemuir on 16th July.
And so it proved - Kirriemuir winning 4-2 at home.
